Life and Times in Heeney Colorado
I’ve been counting my blessings. Right at the top of my list with my family is where I live – in Heeney Colorado. Heeney is on the shores of the Green Mountain Reservoir at the northern end of Summit County. I’m lucky to be in the real estate business selling property in Heeney and the rest of Summit County (and Blue Valley Acres in Grand County).
Why do I love Heeney?
In the winter time it is a very small community and pretty quiet. The big excitement is a good size fish someone caught ice fishing. The winter before last, we did have a naked guy, but that is rare. In the summer our population expands with lot of people camping around the reservoir and second homes in Heeney being occupied.
I enjoy walking right out my door to take a nice walk with the dog or with just a short drive a good hike or cross country ski. In the winter my favorite place to cross country ski is up the Cataract Lake Road. Drive as far as it’s plowed, then ski for a mile or so back to the lake. Otto – the dog doesn’t get into too much trouble up there. In the summer a hike around the lake can’t be beat.
We, my husband Don and I moved to Heeney back in 1978, we bought the restaurant and around 10 cabins. My parents and siblings with spouses all came out from the Chicago area. While we had the restaurant people were always asking what was for sale. So I got my real estate license and loved the business. Besides selling property in Heeney, I also work in Keystone, Dillon, Frisco, Breckenridge, Wildernest, Silverthorne and Blue Valley Acres.
Are you curious about property in Summit County? You can search the mls from my web site, there is no requirement to leave you name or email address. My hope is when you do want more information you will give me a call or send an email.
